Berea coach Dammian Stepp started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Chesney Lovins, 5-8 Jr. Alexis Newman, 6-0 Jr. Madison Howell, 4-11 Jr. Isis Rodgers, and 5-6 Jr. Mati Stepp. Great Crossing coach Glenn Wilson Jr. countered with 5-9 Fr. Ava Schureman, 5-7 Jr. Rachel Smith, 6-0 So. Raegan Barrett, 5-1 Sr. Braylee McMath, and 5-7 Jr. Timothi Williams.
Great Crossin led 38-24 in the third quarter and withstood a Berea rally to earn a 58-55 victory. Great Crossing shot 29.5% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 18 points on 10 Berea turnovers. Berea shot 36% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc. The Lady Pirates connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored four points off eight Great Crossing turnovers.
Braylee McMath led Great Crossing with 19 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Timothi Williams added 18 points including two three point baskets, eight of nine free throws, nine rebounds, and two steals. Ava Schureman recorded nine points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.
Madison Howell led Berea with 17 points including eight of 10 free throws, seven rebounds, and three assists. Alexis Newman added 12 points including three three point baskets. Chesney Lovins recorded eight points and nine rebounds. Mati Stepp chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.
