Ashland Blazer coach Jason Mays started the following lineup: 6-2 Jr. Cole Villers, 6-2 Fr. Zander Carter, 6-8 Sr. Sean Marcum, 5-11 So. Colin Porter, and 6-1 Jr. Ethan Sellars. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-6 So. Chandler Starks, 6-5 Jr. Colin McHale, 6-7 Jr. Mitchell Rylee, 5-9 So. Evan Ipsaro, and 6-4 Sr. Donovan Stocks.
Covington Catholic defeated Ashland Blazer by the score of 71-62. Covington Catholic shot 50% from the field including one of eight from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 26 of 32 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and committed nine turnovers. Ashland Blazer shot 43.3% from the field including nine of 27 from beyond the arc. The Tomcats connected on one of two free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.
Donovan Stocks led Covington Catholic with 19 points including 12 of 12 free throws, and eight rebounds. Evan Ipsaro added 15 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Mitchell Rylee recorded 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Chandler Starks added 13 points including five of seven free throws and 12 rebounds.
Cole Villers led Ashland Blazer with 26 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Ethan Sellars added 15 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds. Colin Porter recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and five assists.
