Frederick Douglass coach Jason Moseley started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Tyson Barrett, 6-2 Sr. Julius Scearce, 6-8 Sr. Shemar O’Roy-Ford, 5-11 Jr. Kai Simpson, and 6-1 Sr. DaShawn Jackson.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-3 Jr. Kyan Miller, 6-1 Jr. Kanye Henderson, 6-3 Sr. Harrison Lynch, 5-8 So. Konlin Brown, and 6-2 Sr. Aziel Blackwell.

 

Frederick Douglass trailed 56-51 after three quarters but outscored Henry Clay 27-14 in the final quarter to earn a 78-70 victory.  The score was tied eight times and there were 13 lead changes in the game.  Frederick Douglass shot 47.8% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 25 of 28 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 48.1% from the field including eight of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

DaShawn Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 26 points including two three point baskets, 14 of 15 free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Tyson Barrett added 16 points including three three point baskets, 11 rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Kai Simpson recorded 15 points including five of five free throws.  Julius Scearce chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.

 

Aziel Blackwell led Henry Clay with 23 points including three three point baskets, four assists, and four steals.  Kanye Henderson added 14 points and five rebounds.  Konlin Brown recorded 12 points on four three point baskets.  Harrison Lynch chipped in with nine points, two rebounds, and three assists.
