Highlands vs. Franklin County (Girls)

Highlands coach Jaime Richey started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Emma Riccobene, 5-6 Sr. Kelsey Listerman, 5-10 Sr. Rory O’Hara, 5-4 So. Alyssa Harris, and 5-6 Sr. Emma Mallery.  Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 5-10 Jr. Patience Laster, 5-5 Sr. Alijah Starks, 6-4 So. Jhaven Meade, 5-2 Jr. Nevaeh Carter, and 5-6 Sr. Brooklynn Miles.

 

Franklin County rallied from a 36-29 deficit after three quarters to outscore Highlands 17-9 in the final quarter to earn a 46-45 victory.  Franklin County shot 36.7% from the field including three of 14 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers.  Highlands shot 35.7% from the field including three of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Bluebirds connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.

 

Patience Laster led Franklin County with 14 points including six of eight free throws, and seven rebounds.  Jhaven Meade added 12 points and four rebounds.  Brooklynn Miles recorded eight points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals. 

 

Kelsey Listerman led Highlands with 13 points including five of five free throws, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Emma Mallery added nine points on three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Rory O’Hara recorded seven points including three of four free throws and three rebounds.  Emma Riccobene chipped in with six points and three rebounds.
