Frederick Douglass vs. Sayre (Girls)

42nd District Tournament

Frederick Douglass coach Daryl Moberly started the following lineup: 5-9 Jr. Allison Wallace, 5-5 Sr. Kourtesy Lee, 6-0 Fr. Ayanna-Sarrai Darrington, 5-1 Jr. Bradley Price, and 5-5 Sr. Kasia Parks.  Sayre coach Bart Bellairs countered with 5-10 So. Kylee Dennis, 5-8 Jr. Catherine Graves, 5-8 Sr. Melissa Shane, 5-6 So. Sophia Richardson, and 5-7 Sr. Cate Goodman.

 

Frederick Douglass defeated Sayre by the score of 33-21.  Frederick Douglass shot 25.5% from the floor including one of 16 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 12.7% from the field including one of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored five points off 16 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and two steals.  Allison Wallace added 11 points including four of five free throws, 15 rebounds, and two blocked shots. 

 

Kylee Dennis led Sayre with nine points including five of six free throws, nine rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Catherine Graves added seven points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and five steals.
