11th Region Tournament (Quarterfinal)

Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Olivia Cathers, 5-7 So. Kylie Noble, 6-0 Jr. Anaya Brown, 5-1 Jr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-7 Jr. Lauren Walton.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with 6-0 Sr. Kaylie Wise, 5-7 Jr. Brianna Penney, 6-0 Sr. Kenady Tompkins, 5-6 Jr. Emma Price, and 5-6 Fr. Maleiyah Moore.

 

Lafayette defeated Scott County by the score of 61-52.  There were four lead changes and three ties in the game.  Lafayette shot 35.6% from the field including seven of 23 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 22 of 33 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 Scott County turnovers.  Scott County shot 26.8% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 25 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored six points off nine Lafayette turnovers.  Scott County was plagued with foul woes tonight as Maleiyah Moore, Kenady Tompkins, and Tyra Young all fouled out.

 

Lauren Walton led Lafayette with 24 points including six three point baskets, and four of four free throws.  Anaya Brown added 20 points including 11 of 17 free throws, 10 rebounds, and two assists.  5-5 So. Gracyn Grantz recorded seven points including five of six free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

 

Kenady Tompkins led Scott County with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Emma Price added 15 points on five three point baskets and four rebounds.  5-6 So. Tyra Young recorded 14 points and nine rebounds.
