11th Region Basketball Tournament (Championship)

Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Patience Laster, 5-5 Jr. Shauvi Kennedy, 6-4 So. Jhaven Meade, 5-2 Jr. Nevaeh Carter, and 5-6 Sr. Brooklynn Miles.  Lafayette coach Allison Tate Denton countered with 5-10 Jr. Olivia Cathers, 5-5 So. Gracyn Grantz, 6-0 Jr. Anaya Brown, 5-1 Jr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-7 Jr. Lauren Walton.

 

Franklin County led 13-0 after the first quarter and Lafayette scored their first basket with 6:50 left in the first half as Franklin continued to roll on their way to a 53-38 victory.  Franklin County shot 36.4% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 16 of 27 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 25.5% from the field including four of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 19 Franklin County turnovers.

 

Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 13 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Shauvi Kennedy added 11 points including six of eight free throws, and four rebounds.  Patience Laster recorded nine points and 16 rebounds.  Jhaven Meade chipped in with six points and eight rebounds.  Nevaeh Carter added four points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals.  5-7 8th Grade Cameryn Ridderikhoff recorded six points on two three point baskets, one rebound, and one steal.

 

Olivia Cathers led Lafayette with 16 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Anaya Brown added 12 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, one blocked shot, and three steals.  Lauren Walton recorded five points, two rebounds, and five steals.  Gracyn Grantz chipped in with three points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
