Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings started the following lineup: 5-8 So. Lilly Reid, 5-8 Jr. Emma Egan, 6-6 Jr. Gracie Merkle, 5-4 Sr. Lexi Starr, and 5-9 Sr. Selena Granado. Butler coach Wyatt Foust countered with 5-10 Sr. Tiarra East, 5-8 Sr. Leslie Baxter, 6-1 Jr. Tamesha Dozier, 5-3 Sr. Chardrea Satori, and 5-7 Sr. Dyanstee White.
Bullitt East defeated Butler by the score of 48-45. Butler had a good look at the three for the tie at the buzzer but the shot was off target and the Lady Chargers clinched their berth in the Sweet 16. There were five lead changes and four ties in this game. Bullitt East shot 41.9% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line. The Lady Chargers connected on eight of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven Butler turnovers. Butler shot 29.3% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc. The Bearettes connected on 20 of 23 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Bullitt East turnovers.
Gracie Merkle led Bullitt East with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Emma Egan added 12 points and seven rebounds. Selena Granado recorded six points on two three point baskets and four rebounds. Lexi Starr chipped in with five points.
Tiarra East led Butler with 17 points including seven of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, and three steals. Dyanstee White added eight points including six of six free throws, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tamesha Dozier recorded eight points and five rebounds.
