Scott County rebounded from an opening game defeat with a 41-0 shutout victory over Lafayette. Scott County recorded 19 first downs and 416 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized 11 times for 124 yards. Lafayette recorded nine first downs and 111 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized five times for 22 yards and had three passes intercepted.
Montago Jones led Scott County’s ground game with 116 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Thomas Feickert carried the ball 11 times for 65 yards and one touchdown. Haaden Jones added 53 yards on seven carries. Jeremy Hamilton carried the ball six times for 34 yards and two touchdowns. Andrew Hickey completed six of 12 passes for 113 yards and one touchdown. Paul Garner caught three passes for 29 yards. Logan Jones added two receptions for 24 yards. Jeremy Hamilton caught one pass for 60 yards and a touchdown. Elijah Adams led the defense with eight solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards. Andrew Wilhite added five solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 23 yards. G. Robinson chipped in with three solo and one assisted tackles. Isaac Krebs recorded five assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned for eight yards. Logan Jones intercepted a pass he returned 25 yards.
Lucas Doneghy led Lafayette’s ground game with 14 yards on two carries. Hayden Dawahare completed 14 of 34 passes for 112 yards with three interceptions. Tanner Pace caught six passes for 64 yards. DJ Walker added 19 yards on two receptions. Derreon Stewart returned four kickoffs for 124 yards with a long return of 38 yards. Bond Jacobs led the defense with 10 solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Everett Lauranc added six solo and three assisted tackles. Caleb Bryant recorded six solo and two assisted tackles. D. Jackson added four solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.
