Frederick Douglass raced out to a 29-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 51-0 victory over Tates Creek. Frederick Douglass recorded 12 first downs and 340 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized six times for 56 yards and lost a fumble. Tates Creek recorded five first downs and 55 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized four times for 39 yards and had a pass intercepted.
Ty Bryant led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 51 yards and a touchdown on three carries. James Mickey carried the ball twice for 42 yards and a touchdown. Davaun Hart carried the ball three times for 33 yards and a touchdown. TJ Horton carried the ball once for a two yard touchdown run. Samuel Cornett completed 10 of 13 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns. Cameron Dunn caught three passes for 57 yards and a touchdown. Dane Key added two receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. Tylon Webb added two receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown. Thomas Howard also caught two passes for 41 yards. Cooper Ranvier kicked off eight times for a 63.8 average and six touch backs. M. Jenkins led the defense with three solo and one assisted tackle with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards. Jeremiah Lowe added two solo and one assisted tackle with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss. Brandon Brooks recorded two solo and one assisted tackle with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards. Japhia Kennedy added two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss. J. Harkless added two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss. Tresean Benford chipped in with one solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.
Aliyon Blevins led Tates Creek’s ground game with seven yards and two carries. A. Witherington completed five of 15 passes for 47 yards with one interception. Theo Jones completed three of three passes for seven yards. #15 caught three passes for 43 yards. M. Smith returned one kickoff for 36 yards. Cartez Guy led the defense with three solo tackles. M. Underwood added two solo and one assisted tackle. Logan Julian recorded two solo tackles.
