Lexington Christian Academy scored early and often in a 63-23 victory over Somerset. LCA recorded 20 first downs and 625 yards of total offense. The Eagles were penalized eight times for 80 yards. Somerset recorded eight first downs and 198 yards of total offense. The Briar Jumpers were penalized three times for 30 yards and had a pass intercepted.
Xavier Brown led LCA’s ground game with 154 yards and two touchdowns on three carries. J’Veontae Emerson carried the ball four times for 67 yards. Saxton Howard added 60 yards on one carry. Josh Tejerina recorded 52 yards on four carries. Jeremiah Riffle carried the ball three times for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Drew Nieves completed four of seven passes for 139 yards with and two touchdowns. Saxton Howard completed three of four passes for 53 yards and three touchdowns. Mason Moore caught two passes for 102 yards and one touchdown. Will Orberson, Jeffery Selby, Will Rich, and Evan Thompson each one pass for a touchdown of 42, 31, 6, and 5 yards respectively. Mason Moore returned two punts for 33 yards. Andrew Dobbs was nine of nine in extra point attempts and consistently found the end zone on kickoffs. Johnny Bruce Drake led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles. Tyler Morris added five solo and two assisted tackles with five of his tackles resulting in lost yardage. Jeffrey Selby recorded one solo and eight assisted tackles. Mason Moore intercepted a pass.
Guy Bailey led Somerset’s ground game with 104 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Josh Bruner completed six of 11 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown. Josh Gross completed two of five passes for 21 yards with one interception. Hayden Dick caught one pass for 80 yards and a touchdown. Cayden Cimala caught two passes for 20 yards. Guy Bailey returned two kickoffs for 37 yards and Cayden Cimala returned two kickoffs for 32 yards. Chase Doan led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles. Josh Gross added three solo tackles.
