Madison Southern coach Austin Newton started the following lineup: 6-3 So. Jay Rose, 6-2 Sr. Blake Simpson, 6-6 Jr. Brett Erslan, 6-0 So. Braden Hudson, and 6-1 So. Zach Hudson. Casey County coach William Carson III countered with 6-1 Sr. Logan Stephens, 6-0 Jr. Nate Goode, 6-2 Jr. Ethan Willoughby, 5-8 Sr. Donovan Jackson, and 5-11 Jr. Blake Caudill.
Madison Central led 24-20 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 59-36 victory over Casey County on the road. The only negative for Madison Southern was that Zach Hudson had to leave the game in the first half with a wrist injury and did not return. Madison Southern shot 37.7% from the field including five of 24 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and committed 17 turnovers. Casey County shot 26.5% from the field including one of 23 from beyond the arc. The Rebels connected on nine of 18 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and committed 22 turnovers.
Jay Rose led Madison Southern with 16 points including seven of nine free throws, 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Brett Erslan added 17 points. Braden Hudson recorded nine points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
5-8 So. Caleb Brown led Casey County with nine points, two rebounds, and two steals. Nate Goode added seven points and five rebounds. Blake Caudill recorded six points, two rebounds, and two assists. Ethan Willoughby pulled down 11 rebounds and dished out four assists.
