Holy Cross coach Casey Sorrell started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Dylan Arlinghaus, 6-1 Jr. Jacob Meyer, 6-10 Jr. Sam Gibson, 5-7 Sr. Zach Arlinghaus, and 5-8 Jr. Javier Ward.  Frederick Douglass coach Jason Moseley countered with 6-7 Jr. Tyson Barrett, 6-0 Jr. Taylon Webb, 6-7 Sr. Shemar O’Roy Ford, 5-5 Fr. Melo Boone, and 5-11 Jr. Kai Simpson.

 

Frederick Douglass trailed 53-45 after three quarters but Cameron Dunn scored on a put-back basket in the closing seconds to give the Broncos a 69-67 victory over Covington Holy Cross.  Frederick Douglass shot 35.6% from the field including five of 21 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 22 of 31 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Holy Cross turnovers.  Holy Cross shot 40.3% from the field including five of 27 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 12  of 23 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

 

Tylon Webb led Frederick Douglass with 14 points including four of five free throws, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Kai Simpson added 12 points and seven rebounds.  5-10 Fr. Aveion Chenault recorded 12 points and seven rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Cameron Dunn chipped in with 11 points and two steals.  Shemar O’Roy Ford pulled down eight rebounds.

 

Jacob Meyer led Holy Cross with 42 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals.  Javier Ward added nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Sam Gibson recorded four points and seven rebounds.  Dylan Arlinghaus chipped in with five points and seven rebounds.
