Madison Central coach Brad Lovely started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-6 Fr. Tiana Long, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader. Madison Southern coach Josh Curtis countered with 5-11 Jr. Macie Daniels, 5-6 Sr. Morgan Flannery, 6-0 Jr. Reece Estep, 5-4 8th Grade Hadley French, and 5-5 Jr. Tara Wooten.
Madison Central led 32-28 after three quarters but were outscored 12-0 in the last quarter as Madison Southern earned a 40-32 victory. There were four ties and nine lead changes in this game. Madison Southern shot 30.2% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on nine of 16 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 25 Madison Central turnovers. Madison Central shot 35.1% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 Madison Southern turnovers.
Morgan Flannery led Madison Southern with 12 points including two three point baskets, six of seven free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Hadley French added 12 points including two three point baskets and two steals. Macie Daniels recorded six points, three assists, one blocked shot, and one steal. Reece Estep pulled down nine rebounds.
Brittany Campbell led Madison Central with seven points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Nataya Strader added seven points and four rebounds. Kessaney Melton recorded five points, three rebounds, and two blocked shots. Bailey Hensley recorded four points, 11 rebounds, and two assists.
