Middlesboro coach Scott Overbay started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Grace Gent, 5-5 7th Grade Trinity Derossett, 5-11 Sr. Kailey Owens, 5-0 Sr. Mallory James, and 5-0 Fr. Keevi Betts.  Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 Jr. Chloe Freeman, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader.

 

Madison Central raced out to a 20-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 64-53 victory over Middlesboro.  Madison Central shot 50.9% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on four of five free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 32 points off 22 Middlesboro turnovers.  Middlesboro shot 37.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jackets connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and five steals.  Nataya Strader added 13 points, three rebounds, two assists, and five steals.  Chloe Freeman recorded 11 points including three three point baskets and four assists.  Kessaney Melton chipped in with 10 points, two rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Brittany Campbell added seven points, four rebounds, eight assists, and one steal with zero turnovers.

 

Kailey Owens led Middlesboro with 15 points including two three point baskets, five of five free throws, 14 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Keevi Betts added 14 points including three three point baskets, three of four free throws, and three steals.  Mallory James recorded 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
