South Warren vs. Southwestern (Girls)

White, Greer, & Maggard Orthodontics Holiday Classic

South Warren coach Blane Embry started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Mila Munrath, 5-8 Sr. Carrie Enlow, 5-9 Jr. Hannah Jackson, 5-5 Jr. Lydia Frank, and 5-7 Jr. Gracie Hodges.  Southwestern coach Junior Molden countered with 5-11 Sr. Makayla Noritis, 5-10 Jr. Kaylee Young, 6-1 So. Payton Acey, 5-6 Fr. Kinsey Molden, and 5-7 Jr. Ayden Smiddy.

 

Southwestern outscored South Warren 19-4 in the third quarter on their way to a 55-38 victory.  Southwestern shot 43.8% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Warriors connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 25 South Warren turnovers.  South Warren shot 30.8% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on 11 of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored eight points off  15 Southwestern turnovers.

 

Payton Acey led Southwestern with 21 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Kinsey Molden added 10 points and five assists.  Makayla Noritis recorded nine points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Ayden Smiddy chipped in with seven points, four assists, and two steals.  Kaylee Young recorded six points on two three point baskets, four rebounds, two assists, and five steals.

 

5-4 8th Grade McLaine Hudson led South Warren with 14 points and two steals.  Lydia Frank added six points on two three point baskets.
