Cooper vs. South Laurel (Girls) (Quarterfinal)

White, Greer, & Maggard Holiday Classic

Cooper coach Justin Holthaus started the following lineup: 6-1 So. Bella Deere, 6-0 So. Logan Luebbers Palmer, 6-2 Jr. Whitney Lind, 5-8 So. Maleah Alexander, and 5-10 So. Liz Freihofer.  South Laurel coach Chris Sauder countered with 6-0 So. Clara Collins, 5-10 Jr. Gracie Turner, 5-11 Jr. Emily Cox, 5-6 Sr. Corbin Miller, and 5-11 7th Grade Peyton Mabe.

 

Cooper defeated South Laurel by the score of 60-39.  Cooper shot 43.9% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 South Laurel turnovers.  South Laurel shot 32.5% from the field including three of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on 10 of 19 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Cooper turnovers.

 

Whitney Lind led Cooper with 27 points including 10 of 13 free throws, seven rebounds, and three steals.  Logan Luebbers Palmer added 22 points including six of six free throws, nine rebounds, and two steals.  Liz Freihofer added six points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

 

Clara Collins led South Laurel with 14 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two steals.  Emily Cox added 10 points including six of 11 free throws, and six rebounds.  Gracie Turner recorded eight points and two steals.
