Mercy Academy coach Nick Cann started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Emma Barnett, 5-10 Jr. Mary Smith, 6-2 Fr. Leah Macy, 5-5 Fr. Alyssa Murphy, and 5-5 Sr. Gracie Helm. George Rogers Clark coach Robbie Graham countered with 5-11 Jr. Brianna Byars, 5-10 Sr. Tyra Flowers, 6-1 Fr. Ciara Byars, 5-0 7th Grade Kennedy Stamper, and 5-7 Jr. Trinity Gay.
George Rogers Clark pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Mercy Academy by the score of 77-59. GRC shot 48.3% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Mercy Academy turnovers. Mercy Academy shot 36.2% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored eight points off seven GRC turnovers.
Brianna Byars led GRC with 30 points, six rebounds, and two steals. Ciara Byars added 18 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, eight rebounds, four blocked shots, and two steals. Trinity Gay recorded nine points, four assists, and two steals.
Alyssa Murphy led Mercy Academy with 16 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists. Emma Barnett added 15 points including three three point baskets and 12 rebounds. Leah Macy recorded 14 points including four of five free throws, and 13 rebounds. Mary Smith chipped in with eight points including four of four free throws and six assists.
