Anderson County coach Clay Birdwhistell started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Paige Serafini, 5-11 Fr. Lainey Johnson, 6-1 Sr. Jacie Chesser, 5-7 So. Jenna Satterly, and 5-11 Sr. Amiya Jenkins. South Laurel coach Chris Souder countered with 6-0 So. Clara Collins, 5-10 Jr. Gracie Turner, 5-11 Jr. Emily Cox, 5-6 Sr. Corbin Miller, and 5-11 7th Grade Peyton Mabe.
Anderson County outscored South Laurel 15-7 in the third quarter on their way to a 49-44 victory. The score was tied four times and there were four lead changes in the game. Anderson County shot 32.6% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line. The Bearcats connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 29 South Laurel turnovers. South Laurel shot 44.8% from the field including two of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on 16 of 26 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Anderson County turnovers.
Amiya Jenkins led Anderson County with 18 points including seven of nine free throws, nine rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot, and three steals. Jacie Chesser added 12 points, seven rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals. Lainey Johnson recorded nine points and three steals.
Clara Collins led South Laurel with 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. 6-2 Sr. Rachel Presley added 11 points and nine rebounds. Peyton Mabe recorded 10 points including six of 10 free throws.
