Great Crossing vs. Madison Southern (Boys)

Great Crossing coach Steve Page started the following lineup: 6-5 So. Jeremiah Godfrey, 6-4 Fr. Vince Dawson, 6-10 Fr. Malachi Moreno, 6-3 Fr. Gage Richardson, and 6-3 Sr. Ty Schureman.  Madison Southern coach Austin Newton countered with 6-2 Sr. Blake Simpson, 6-1 Jr. Kyle Linville, 6-4 Sr. Nate Turner, 5-8 Fr. Casen Nobbe, and 6-0 So. Braden Hudson.

 

Great Crossing defeated Madison Southern by the score of 63-54.  The score was tied once and there were six lead changes in the game.  Great Crossing shot 51.1% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Warhawks connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 35.5% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Great Crossing turnovers.

 

Vince Dawson led Great Crossing with 23 points including two three point baskets, seven of 10 free throws, three rebounds, and four assists.  5-11 Sr. Tyquan Stakelin added 11 points.  Malachi Moreno recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Jeremiah Godfrey chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.

 

6-3 So. Jay Rose led Madison Southern with 12 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Braden Hudson added 11 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.  6-5 Jr. Brett Erslan recorded nine points, four rebounds, and two assists.  Kyle Linville chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets. Nate Turner added four points and eight rebounds.
