Western Hills coach Geoff Cody started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Walter Campbell, 6-1 Fr. Elijah Thompson, 6-5 Fr. Javeon Campbell, 5-11 So. Austin Slone, and 6-2 Sr. Zach Semones.  Great Crossing coach Steve Page countered with 6-6 So. Jeremiah Godfrey, 6-5 Fr. Vince Dawson, 6-10 Fr. Malachi Moreno, 6-3 Fr. Gage Richardson, and 6-3 Sr. Tye Schureman.

 

Great Crossing raced out to a 21-5 lead but had to withstand a furious rally by Western Hills to earn a 63-61 victory over Western Hills on a layup at the buzzer by Vince Dawson.  There were 12 lead changes and three ties in this game.  Great Crossing shot 48.2% from the field including two of seven from the three point line.  The Warhawks connected on seven of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points on 14 Western Hills turnovers.  Western Hills shot 42.9% from the field including five of nine from beyond the arc.  The Wolverines connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored six points off six Great Crossing turnovers.

 

5-9 Fr. Junius Burrell led Great Crossing with 18 points, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Malachi Moreno added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Jeremiah Godfrey recorded 12 points and four rebounds.  Vince Dawson chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and three steals.  5-11 Sr. Carson Walls added seven points.

 

Javeon Campbell led Western Hills with 19 points and 13 rebounds.  Walter Campbell added 18 points and 14 rebounds.  Zach Semones recorded 16 points including four three point baskets.
