Madison Central vs. Bryan Station (Girls)

Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Eden Carter, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader.  Bryan Station coach Serena Sandusky countered with 5-10 Sr. Tania Woodall, 5-8 Fr. Jailenn Green, 5-11 So. Kailyn Gentry, 5-6 Fr. Makari Murphy, and 5-6 Jr. Emily Gomez.

 

Madison Central defeated Bryan Station by the score of 69-56 in a game that was punctuated with turnovers and game stoppage due to fouls.  The two teams combined for 52 turnovers and 49 fouls.  Madison Central shot 37.3% from the field including one of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 30 of 47 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, scored 30 points off 27 Bryan Station turnovers and were whistled for 19 fouls.  Bryan Station shot 38.2% from the field including four of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Defenders connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 25 Madison Central turnovers, and were whistled for 30 fouls.  (Jailenn Green, Tania Woodall, Kailyn Gentry, and Victory Sledge all fouled out for Bryan Station).

 

Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 18 points including eight of nine free throws, 14 rebounds, and four steals.  Eden Carter added 15 points, two rebounds, and seven steals.  Brittany Campbell recorded 13 points including nine of 12 free throws with several coming late to ice the game, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.  5-6 Fr. Kendall Clines came up big tonight with 10 points including six of six free throws, and four rebounds. 

 

Tania Woodall led Bryan Station with 20 points including two three point baskets, six of six free throws, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Emily Gomez added 13 points including two three point baskets, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  5-11 So. Victory Sledge recorded eight points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Jailenn Green chipped in with six points, three assists, two blocked shots, and four steals.
