Central coach Deshawn Pendleton started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. JaLa Douglas, 5-10 So. Destiny Jones, 6-0 Sr. Briontanay Marshall, 5-2 Jr. JaKyrra Bartlett, and 5-6 Jr. Amaya Asher.  Mercy Academy coach Nick Cann countered with 6-1 Jr. Emma Barnett, 5-10 Jr. Mary Smith, 6-2 Fr. Leah Macy, 5-5 Fr. Alyssa Murphy, and 5-5 Sr. Gracie Helm.

 

Mercy Academy outscored Central 14-4 in the final quarter to earn a 65-59 come-from-behind victory over Central.  Mercy Academy held a 36-24 in the first half but Central rallied to lead 55-51 after three quarters.  There were two lead changes and four ties in this game.  Mercy Academy shot 47.9% from the field including four of 19 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 17 Central turnovers.  Central shot 37.1% from the field including five of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Jackets connected on eight of 15 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 20 Mercy Academy turnovers.

 

Leah Macy led Mercy Academy with 24 points, 15 rebounds, two blocked shots, and six steals.  Alyssa Murphy added 17 points and two assists.  Mary Smith recorded 14 points including seven of eight free throws, three rebounds, and six assists.  Emma Barnett chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.

 

Briontanay Marshall led Central with 21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Amaya Asher added 13 points, four rebounds, and six assists.  JaLa Douglas recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Destiny Jones pulled down seven rebounds.
