Woodford County coach Jaron Brown started the following lineup: 6-8 Jr. John McCrear, 6-3 So. Tyler Doyle, 6-7 Sr. Jackson Twombly, 5-8 Fr. Santonio Waide, and 5-10 Sr. Brian White.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Aziel Blackwell, 6-2 Jr. Kyan Miller, 6-7 Sr. Brenden Wicker, 5-9 Jr. Konlin Brown, and 6-1 Sr. Kanye Henderson.

 

Henry Clay led 20-9 in the first half but needed a buzzer beater fade away jump shot from Kanye Henderson to earn a 59-58 victory over Woodford County.  There were two lead changes and two ties in this game.  Henry Clay shot 35.4% from the field including four of 14 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 21 of 28 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 57.6% from the field including four of nine from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 16 of 24 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Kanye Henderson led Henry Clay with 27 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws, five rebounds, and four steals.  Aziel Blackwell added 22 points including 14 of 17 free throws, and five rebounds.  Konlin Brown chipped in with seven points and two assists.

 

Jasper Johnson led Woodford County with 19 points including three three point baskets, four of four free throws and three rebounds.  Jackson Twombly added 15 points and four rebounds.  6-2 Jr. Aden Nelson recorded six points, five rebounds, and two steals.
