Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Katherine Truitt, 5-10 Jr. Olivia Bretz, 5-9 So. Lydia Kennedy, 5-7 Jr. Lucy Nash, and 5-8 Fr. Abby Hammond. West Jessamine coach Jana Hughes countered with 6-0 Sr. Aaliyah Edenstrom, 5-9 7th Grade Claire Marshall, 6-0 Sr. Delaysia Thomas, 5-3 8th Grade Isabella Lewis, and 5-6 8th Grade Anaya Chestnut.
West Jessamine hit two key free throws down the stretch to earn a 60-58 victory over Lexington Catholic. The score was tied 15 times and there were 12 lead changes in the game. West Jessamine shot 39.2% from the field including one of seven from the three point line. The Colts connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 40.3% from the field including zero of 11 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on eight of 16 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 26 West Jessamine turnovers.
Claire Marshall led West Jessamine with 16 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, and six steals. Anaya Chestnut added 15 points including nine of 12 free throws, and four assists. Delaysia Thomas recorded 14 points and three rebounds. Aaliyah Edenstrom chipped in with six points and 13 rebounds. 5-2 8th Grade Katie Mastin chipped in with six points, two rebounds, and two steals.
Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 28 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Olivia Bretz added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded four points, five rebounds, three assists, and three blocked shots.
