Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-10 So. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Eden Carter, 5-9 Sr. Kessaney Melton, 5-7 Fr. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 Fr. Nataya Strader. Tates Creek coach Matt Yates countered with 5-10 Sr. Jameela Shalash, 5-8 Sr. Joyce Mukalamusi, 6-0 Sr. Elyse Baker, 5-3 Sr. Alisce Lyvers, and 5-6 Sr. Maddie Kauffman.
Madison Central held off a late furious rally by Tates Creek to earn a 71-68 victory. Madison Central trailed for most of the game but rallied to take a 62-52 lead with 3:20 left in the game but Tates Creek rallied to pull within 2: 70-68 but could not connect on a hurried three point attempt for the tie in the closing seconds. The score was tied twice and there were five lead changes in the game. Madison Central shot 48% from the field including three of eight from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on 20 of 34 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 26 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 47.2% from the field including eight of 25 from beyond the arc. The Lady Commodores connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Madison Central turnovers.
Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 24 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Brittany Campbell added 16 points, six assists, and four steals. Campbell was seven of nine from the field and two of two from the free throw line. Nataya Strader recorded nine points, four rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Kessaney Melton chipped in with nine points and four rebounds. Eden Carter added eight points, two rebounds, and three steals.
Joyce Mukalamusi led Tates Creek with 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Maddie Kauffaman added 19 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists. Elyse Baker recorded 12 points, 17 rebounds, and two assists. Alisce Lyvers chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and six assists.
