Lafayette coach Allison Denton started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Olivia Cathers, 5-10 Fr. Savannah Simpson, 6-1 Sr. Anaya Brown, 5-1 Sr. Catherine Jacobs, and 5-5 Jr. Gracyn Grantz.  Madison Southern coach Josh Curtis countered with 5-11 Sr. Macie Daniels, 5-6 Sr. Morgan Flannery, 5-10 Jr. Bella Moberly, 5-3 8th Grade Hadley French, and 5-5 Jr. Tara Wooten.

 

Lafayette eked out a 54-52 double overtime victory over Madison Southern on the road tonight.  There were 12 lead changes and six ties in this game.  Lafayette shot 42.6% from the field including five of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 26 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 44.4% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 13 of 20 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 23 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Anaya Brown led Lafayette with 19 points, nine rebounds, and five steals.  Savannah Simpson added 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two blocked shots.  Olivia Cathers recorded 10 points, two rebounds, two blocked shots, and four steals. Gracyn Grantz chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists.

 

Hadley French led Madison Southern with 17 points including four three point baskets, three of four free throws, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Macie Daniels added 16 points including two three point baskets, and five rebounds.  Bella Moberly recorded eight points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Tara Wooten chipped in with six points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Morgan Flannery added three points, six rebounds, and two assists.
