Male coach Maurice Ponder started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Darian Griggs, 5-8 Sr. Alexis Carr, 5-11 Jr. MaKiya West, 5-3 Jr. Desaine Mhango, and 5-4 Jr. KaNiah Edelen.  Henry Clay coach Ashley Garrard countered with 5-10 Jr. Lauren Thomas, 5-8 So. Lydia VanMeter, 5-11 Sr. Kennedy Williams, 5-2 Fr. Ariyana Sutton, and 5-8 So. Allison Stone.

 

Male made the plays down the stretch and recorded a 61-57 come-from-behind victory over Henry Clay.  There were seven lead changes and six ties in this game.  Male shot 43.6% from the field including one of seven from the three point line.  They connected on 12 of 30 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 36 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 32.7% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Blue Devils connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 21 Male turnovers.

 

MaKiya West led Male with 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  5-7 Sr. Makaya Grinter added 11 points, three rebounds, and two assists.  Alexis Carr recorded eight points, two rebounds, and four assists.  Desaine Mhango chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and seven steals.  KaNiah Edelen added seven points and two steals.

 

Kennedy Williams led Henry Clay with 19 points, eight rebounds, and two assists.  Allison Stone added 17 points including five three point baskets and seven rebounds.  5-6 So. Timarri Miller recorded 12 points, nine rebounds, and two steals.  Lauren Thomas pulled down seven rebounds.  Ariyana Sutton recorded four points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals.
