North Laurel vs. Knox Central (Boys)

The 13^th Regions’ top two teams clashed tonight in a battle of the titans before a deafening crowd tonight for bragging rights in the region.  Knox Central was without the services of their outstanding big man 6-6 240 pound So. Gavin Chadwell and North Laurel had the disadvantage of playing before a loud, partisan crowd.  North Laurel captured a 90-86 decision in a game that lived up to its advanced billing.  North Laurel raced out to an early advantage and led 26-11 at the end of the first quarter.  However as expected Knox Central battled back and trailed 70-67 after three quarters.  Knox Central pulled to within 1; 75-74 mid way through the final stanza  but North Laurel hit their free throws down the stretch to ensure the victory.

North Laurel shot 47.3% from the field including eight of 20 from the three point line.  The Jaguars connected on 12 of 15 free throws and pulled down 31 rebounds.  Knox Central shot 47.8% from the field including seven of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 15 of 18 free throws and pulled down 43 rebounds.

6-3 Jr. Reed Sheppard led North Laurel with 37 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws and 11 rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Ryan Davidson added 28 points including five of six free throws and nine rebounds.  6-0 So. Brody Brock chipped in with 10 points. 

6-4 Sr. Jevonte Turner led Knox Central with 34 points including seven of nine free throws and 15 rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Isaac Mills added 14 points and 11 rebounds.  6-4 Jr. KT Turner recorded 12 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Abram Brock chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.
