42nd District Tournament

Sayre coach Robert Goodman started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Cole Pennington, 6-1 Jr. Graham Johnson, 6-3 Jr. Davis Miller, 6-0 Sr. Zander Collett, and 6-0 Sr. Dant Bowling.  Scott County coach Tim Glenn countered with 6-2 Sr. Isaiah Haynes, 6-1 Sr. Jeremy Hamilton, 6-4 Jr. Nick Mosby, 5-8 Jr. JZ Middleton, and 5-10 Sr. Andrew Willhite.

 

The score was tied 21-21 at halftime but Scott County pulled away in the second half for a 51-32 victory over Sayre.  There were five ties and nine lead changes in the game.  Scott County shot 41.3% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on seven of 11 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 35.3% from the field including three of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Spartans connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored four points off six Scott County turnovers.

 

Nick Mosby led Scott County with 19 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Isaiah Haynes added 12 points including two three point baskets.  JZ Middleton recorded 11 points and three assists.

 

Davis Miller led Sayre with 14 points including two three point baskets and two assists.  Cole Pennington added eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.  Zander Collett recorded seven points.
