Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Murray Gavin started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Zach Carter, 6-1 Jr. Hunter Williams, 6-8 Sr. Lionel Kumwimba, 6-1 Jr. Max VanDyke, and 6-1 Jr. Nick Spalding. Lexington Catholic countered with 6-4 Jr. Hudson Sparks, 6-2 Sr. Jack Gohmann, 6-10 Jr. Reece Potter, 6-0 Sr. Blake Busson, and 6-0 So. John Reinhart.
Paul Laurence Dunbar led 27-13 in the first half and 39-34 after three quarters but Lexington Catholic rallied for a 47-44 victory. The score was tied twice and there were three lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 34.7% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Knights connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Dunbar turnovers. Dunbar shot 43.6% from the field including nine of 20 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on one of four free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off six Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jack Gohmann led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including four three point basket, four of five free throws, three rebounds, and five assists. Reece Potter added 17 points and five rebounds.
Nick Spalding led Dunbar with 13 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and six assists. Max VanDyke added 11 points including three three point baskets and six rebounds. Zach Carter recorded eight points including two three point baskets. Lionel Kumwimba chipped in with six points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.
