Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 6-0 Fr. ZaKiyah Johnson, 5-11 Sr. Josie Gilvin, 6-0 Sr. Alex Wolff, 5-8 Jr. Triniti Ralston, and 5-10 So. Reagan Bender. DuPont Manual coach Jeff Sparks countered with 5-9 Jr. Jakayla Thompson, 5-8 Sr. Ayanna Stroud, 6-0 Sr. Daisha White, 5-4 Jr. Sydne Tolbert, and 5-5 Jr. Jazmine Chatman.
Sacred Heart Academy captured the championship with a hard fought 64-56 victory over a talented DuPont Manual squad. There were three lead changes and five ties in this game. Sacred Heart shot 48.8% from the field including zero of seven from beyond the arc. The Valkyries connected on 24 of 31 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 DuPont Manual turnovers. DuPont Manual shot 37% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Crimsons connected on nine of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 13 Sacred Heart Academy.
ZaKiyah Johnson had a big night for Sacred Heart Academy with 31 points including 13 of 15 free throws, nine rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Triniti Ralston added 15 points including seven of eight free throws and five rebounds. Alex Wolff recorded six points, two rebounds, and four blocked shots. Josie Gilvin chipped in with five points, six rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Sydne Tolbert led DuPont Manual with 18 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and two steals. Jakayla Thompson added 12 points including five of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Daisha White recorded eight points and seven rebounds.
