Mercy Academy coach Nick Cann started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Emma Barnett, 5-10 Jr. Mary Smith, 6-2 Fr. Leah Macy, 5-5 Fr. Alyssa Murphy, and 5-5 Sr. Gracie Helm. Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings countered with 5-10 So. Anna Rodgers, 5-8 Sr. Emma Egan, 6-6 Sr. Gracie Merkle, 5-8 Jr. Lilly Reid, and 5-9 So. Jada Hughes.
The score was tied 21-21 at halftime but Bullitt East pulled away in the second half to defeat Mercy Academy by the score of 63-50. The score was tied six times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. Bullitt East shot 45.5% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line. The Lady Chargers connected on nine of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Mercy Academy turnovers. Mercy Academy shot 37.2% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc. The Jaguars connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off seven Bullitt East turnovers.
Gracie Merkle led Bullitt East with 23 points and 14 rebounds. Emma Egan added 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Anna Rodgers recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and four assists. Lilly Reid chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
Leah Macy led Mercy Academy with 14 points and seven rebounds. Mary Smith added 13 points including five of six free throws, five rebounds, and two steals. Alyssa Murphy recorded nine points, four rebounds, and six assists. Emma Barnett chipped in with eight points including six of six free throws, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.
