11th Region Tournament Championship

Frederick Douglass coach Jason Moseley started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Tyson Barrett, 6-0 Jr. Tylon Webb, 6-7 Sr. Shemar O’Roy-Ford, 5-10 Fr. Armelo Boone, and 5-11 Jr. Kai Simpson.  Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Sr. Aziel Blackwell, 6-2 Jr. Kyan Miller, 6-7 Sr. Brenden Wicker, 5-9 Jr. Konlin Brown, and 6-1 Sr. Kanye Henderson.

 

Henry Clay pulled away late to dfeat Frederick Douglass by the score of 41-37.  There were seven lead changes in this game.  Henry Clay shot 38.9% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line.  The Blue Devils connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Frederick Douglass turnovers.  Frederick Douglass shot 35.1% from the field including one of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Broncos connected on nine of 20 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Henry Clay turnovers.

 

Kanye Henderson led Henry Clay with 14 points and four rebounds.  Aziel Blackwell added 12 points.  Kyan Miller recorded seven points and eight rebounds.  6-0 Jr. Mason Hawkins chipped in with four points on four of four free throws, five rebounds, and two steals. 

 

Armelo Boone led Frederick Douglass with 15 points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Tylon Webb added six points and three rebounds.  5-10 Fr. Logan Busson recorded six points, three rebounds, and two steals.  Tyson Barrett chipped in with four points and eight rebounds.
