2022 Mingua Beef Jerky Girls’ Sweet 16® State Basketball Tournament

Letcher County Central coach Keith Baker started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Keira Couch, 5-6 Jr. Tori Holcomb, 5-9 Sr. Kaylee Banks, 5-3 So. Jaylin Whitt, and 5-6 Sr. Loren Boggs.  Bowling Green coach Calvin Head countered with 5-11 Jr. Meadow Tisdale, 5-10 Jr. Saniyah Shelton, 5-11 Sr. LynKaylah James, 5-3 Sr. Emma Huskey, and 5-8 Jr. Tanaya Bailey.

 

Bowling Green defeated Letcher County Central by the score of 58-45.  Bowling Green shot 40.8% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Purples connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Letcher County Central turnovers.  Letcher County Central shot 42.9% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Cougars connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored seven points off seven Bowling Green turnovers.

 

Meadow Tisdale led Bowling Green with 18 points including five of five free throws, five rebounds, and two steals.  LynKaylah James added 15 points including seven of eight free throws, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Tanaya Bailey recorded eight points and five rebounds.  5-2 Sr. Ava Bennett chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.  Saniyah Shelton recorded four points, two rebounds, eight assists, and four steals.

 

Kaylee Banks led Letcher County Central with 16 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Loren Boggs added eight points including four of four free throws, six rebounds, and six assists.  Keira Couch recorded eight points, five rebounds, and three assists.
