Bishop McNamara coach Frank Oliver started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Qadence Samuels, 5-8 Sr. Gia Cooke, 6-1 Fr. Zhen Craft, 5-7 So. Madison McDaniel, and 5-7 Sr. Yonta Vaughn.  IMG Academy coach Shell Dailey countered with 5-11 Sr. T’iana Todd, 5-10 Sr. Gabby Anderson, 6-3 Sr. Grace Vanslooten, 5-6 Jr. Keegan Spencer, and 5-8 Sr. Kailyn Gilbert.

 

IMG Academy raced out to a 22-10 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-48 victory over Bishop McNamara.  IMG Academy shot 49% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Ascenders connected on 11 of 11 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Bishop McNamara turnovers.  Bishop McNamara shot 26.3% from the field including six of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Mustangs connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 17 IMG Academy turnovers. 

 

Grace Vanslooten led IMG Academy with 24 points including three of three free throws, 11 rebounds, and four assists.  Kailyn Gilbert added 15 points including four of four free throws, eight rebounds, and six assists.  T’iana Todd recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Gabby Anderson chipped in with eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.

 

Madison McDaniel led Bishop McNamara with 15 points including five of five free throws, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Yonta Vaughn added 12 points on four three point baskets and three rebounds.  Gia Cooke recorded nine points and six rebounds.  Qadence Samuels chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Jarace Walker led IMG Academy with 23 points, seven rebounds, four assists, five blocked shots, and two steals.  Keyonte George added 22 points including four three point baskets, eight rebounds, and five assists.  Eric Dailey Jr. recorded 17 points and six rebounds.

Prolific Prep defeated Sunrise Christian by the score of 59-56.  Zion Sensely hit a three in the closing seconds to give Prolific Prep one of the biggest upsets in Geico history.  Prolific Prep was without the services of two McDonald All-Stars members MJ Rice and Adem Bona.  There were eight ties and eight lead changes in this game.  Prolific Prep shot 42.6% from the field including 11 of 29 from the three point line.  The Crew connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored two points off four Sunrise Christian turnovers.  Sunrise Christian shot 39.2% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Buffaloes connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored five points off 11 Prolific Prep turnovers.

Montverde Academy raced out to a 23-14 first quarter lead on their way to a 67-54 victory over DME Academy.  Montverde Academy shot 43.6% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 DME Academy turnovers.  DME Academy shot 38.9% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 13 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Montverde Academy turnovers.

Montverde Academy defeated Link Academy by the score of 60-49.  Montverde Academy shot 43.6% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Link Academy turnovers.  Link Academy shot 32.1% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  They connected on nine of 10 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Montverde Academy turnovers.

 

Dillon Mitchell led a balanced Montverde Academy scoring attack with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals.  Dariq Whitehead added 14 points including four of our free throws, four rebounds, and six assists.  Malik Reneau recorded 14 points including four of six free throws, 12 rebounds, and three assists.  Kwame Evans chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.

 

Julian Phillips led Link Academy with 16 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, and eight rebounds.  Tarris Reed Jr. added seven points and four rebounds.  6-11 Sr. Felix Okpara recorded four points, four rebounds, and four blocked shots.
