Great Crossing coach Matt Walls started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Ava Schureman, 5-8 Jr. Olivia Terney, 6-0 Sr. Raegan Barrett, 5-6 So. Meredith Turner, and 5-7 Sr. Rachel Smith. GRC coach Robbie Graham countered with 6-2 So. Ciara Byars, 5-7 Sr. Trinity Gay, 5-11 Sr. Brianna Byars, 5-4 8th Grade Kennedy Stamper, and 5-7 Fr. Anaya Chestnut.
GRC led 33-28 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to earn a 70-52 victory over Great Crossing. GRC shot 55.3% from the field including one of seven from the three point line. The Lady Cardinals connected on 17 of 30 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 18 Great Crossing turnovers. Great Crossing shot 43.2% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc. The Warhawks connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 19 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 16 GRC turnovers.
Ciara Byars led GRC with 27 points, four rebounds, and three steals. Brianna Byars added 20 points and three steals.
Raegan Barrett led Great Crossing with 15 points and four rebounds. Ava Schureman added 14 points including two three point baskets. Rachel Smith and Olivia Tierney each recorded eight points.
