Covington Holy Cross coach Casey Sorrell started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Jacob Smith, 5-10 Sr. Matthew Dreas, 7-0 Sr. Sam Gibson, 5-8 Sr. Javier Ward, and 6-2 Sr. Jacob Meyer. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-2 Sr. Kascyl McGillis, 6-2 Jr. Brady Hussey, 6-3 Sr. Aiden Jones, 5-10 Fr. Athens McGillis, and 6-1 Sr. Evan Ipsaro.

Covington Catholic trailed 36-33 at halftime but outscored Covington Holy Cross 31-13 in the third quarter on their way to an 86-66 victory. There were nine lead changes and four ties in this game. Covington Catholic shot 50% from the field including 10 of 30 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Holy Cross turnovers. Holy Cross shot 47.1% from the field including nine of 22 from beyond the arc. The Indians connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored four points off five Covington Catholic turnovers.

Evan Ipsaro led Covington Catholic with 28 points, three rebounds, and five assists. Brady Hussey added 16 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists. Athens McGillis recorded 13 points including two three point baskets. Aiden Jones chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds. Kascyl McGillis added 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Jacob Meyer led Holy Cross with 33 points including three three point baskets, six of seven free throws, four rebounds, and five assists. Jacob Smith added 11 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Javier Ward recorded 11 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds. Sam Gibson chipped in with five points and seven rebounds.
