Madison Southern coach Josh Curtis started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Megan Correll, 5-5 So. Ashlan Estep, 5-11 Sr. Bella Moberly, 5-4 Fr. Hadley French, and 5-7 Sr. Tara Wooten. Great Crossing coach Matt Walls countered with 5-10 Jr. Ava Schureman, 5-8 Jr. Olivia Tierney, 6-0 Sr. Raegan Barrett, 5-6 So. Meredith Turner, and 5-7 Sr. Rachel Smith.
Great Crossing led 46-31 in the third quarter and survived a rally by Madison Southern to earn a 56-54 victory. There were five lead changes and three ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 40% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 24 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 29.2% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 19 of 24 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Great Crossing turnovers.
Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 14 points, three rebounds, and seven steals. 5-7 Sr. Kaylee Ray added 10 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Raegan Barrett recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and two steals. 5-10 Jr. Ava Schureman chipped in with seven points, two rebounds, and two assists. 5-7 So. Chapel Brown added seven points and two assists. Rachel Smith recorded four points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
5-10 Fr. Laci Sandlin led Madison Southern with 17 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Hadley French added 13 points including two three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, five rebounds, and three assists. Tara Wooten recorded nine points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and three steals. Bella Moberly chipped in with eight points and four rebounds.
