Berea coach Dammian Stepp started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Abigail Beard, 5-7 Jr. Sophie Brewer, 6-0 Jr. Lauren Stepp, 5-1 Jr. Maddy King, and 5-6 Jr. Mandy Newman. Lexington Christian Academy coach Tim Bradshaw countered with 5-7 So. Claire Roberts, 5-6 Fr. Payton Buckler, 5-5 7th Grade Koko Castle, 5-6 So. Ella Gabbert, and 5-5 8th Grade Nia Carr.
Berea defeated Lexington Christian Academy by the score of 35-27. There were five lead changes and three ties in this game. Berea shot 43.3% from the field including two of seven from the three point line. The Lady Pirates connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine LCA turnovers. LCA shot 22.7% from the field including seven of 24 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles was zero of three from the free throw line, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored eight points off 17 Berea turnovers.
Abigail Beard led Berea with 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Maddy King added 11 points including two three point baskets, and three rebounds. Sophie Brewer recorded four points, five rebounds, and two assists. Mandy Newman chipped in with four points, four rebounds, and two assists.
Claire Roberts led LCA with nine points on three three point baskets and three assists. Nia Carr added nine points on three three point baskets and two assists. Koko Castle recorded four points and seven rebounds. 5-6 Fr. Jenny Bertram chipped in with two points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
