Great Crossing vs. Western Hills (Boys)

Great Crossing coach Steve Page started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Jeremiah Godfrey, 6-5 So. Vince Dawson III, 6-11 So. Malachi Moreno, 5-9 So. Junius Burrell, and 6-4 So. Gage Richardson. Western Hills coach Geoff Cody countered with 6-5 So. Javeon Campbell, 6-1 So. Elijah Thompson, 6-4 Sr. Walter Campbell, 5-4 Sr. David Jackson, and 5-11 Jr. Austin Stone.

Great Crossing trailed 39-36 at halftime but rallied after the intermission to defeat Western Hills by the score of 83-69. There were four lead changes and three ties in this game. Great Crossing shot 52,3% from the field including seven of 12 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off eight Western Hills turnovers. Western Hills shot 51.7% from the field including three of 11 from beyond the arc. The Wolverines connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored five points off six Great Crossing turnovers.

Vince Dawson III led Great Crossing with 25 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. Malachi Moreno added 20 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots. Junius Burrell recorded 16 points including two three point baskets and two steals. Gage Richardson chipped in with 13 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Jeremiah Godfrey pulled down seven rebounds.

Javeon Campbell led Western Hills with 28 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists. Walter Campbell added 16 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists. Elijah Thompson recorded 15 points. Austin Stone chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.
