Madison Central vs. Montgomery County (Girls)

Madison Central coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Eden Carter, 5-7 So. Brooke Campbell, 5-10 Jr. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 So. Nataya Strader. Montgomery County coach Dustin High countered with 5-10 Jr. Allie Dillon, 5-7 Jr. Reaghan Oney, 5-10 Jr. Shaelynn Harris, 5-5 8th Grade Elaine Purvis, and 5-7 So. Hayden Barrier.

The score was tied 31-31 at halftime but Montgomery County was only one of 22 from the field in the second half as Madison Central pulled away for a 52-38 victory. Montgomery was held scoreless for the third quarter . Madison Central shot 42.6% from the field including four of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Montgomery County turnovers. Montgomery County shot 28.3% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on five of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 20 Madison Central turnovers.

Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 16 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Eden Carter added nine points and eight rebounds. 5-7 Jr. Olivia Metcalfe recorded eight points including two three point baskets. Brooke Campbell chipped in with six points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Nataya Strader added five points, two rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Brittany Campbell recorded four points, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

Hayden Barrier led Montgomery County with 13 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and two steals. Allie Dillon added 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Reaghan Oney recorded five points, eight rebounds, two assists, and four steals.
