Madison Southern coach Bill Bevins started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jay Rose, 6-0 Jr. Avery Davidson, 6-1 Jr, Zach Hudson, 5-8 So. Casen Nobbe, and 6-0 Jr. Braden Hudson. Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Murray Gavin countered with 6-2 Sr. Tyler Gadd, 6-1 Sr. Nick Spalding, 6-3 Sr. Cade Hilt, 5-8 So. Mason VanDyke, and 6-1 Sr. Max VanDyke.

Madison Southern defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 59-57 in a game with a bizarre ending. PLD led 57-56 with 1.9 seconds remaining on the clock and during a scramble under the basket Madison Southern was assessed a non-shooting personal foul but PLD was hits with a technical foul and Zach Hudson connected on both free throws to give Madison Southern a 58-57 lead. Madison Southern in bounded the ball and Zach Hudson was fouled and connected on one of two free throws to make the final score 59-57. There were six ties and 12 lead changes in this game.

Madison Southern shot 40.4% from the field including three of 19 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 14 of 19 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 PLD turnovers. PLD shot 40% from the field including eight of 28 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Madison Southern turnovers.

Zach Hudson led Madison Southern with 20 points including eight of 13 free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jay Rose added 19 points including five of five free throws, and 14 rebounds. Casen Nobbe recorded seven points, two rebounds, and three assists. Braden Hudson chipped in with six points, three rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Avery Davidson added five points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Nick Spalding led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 26 points including three three point baskets, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Max VanDyke added 18 points including three three point baskets, and five rebounds. 5-11 Sr, Benjamin Haggard recorded six points on two three point baskets. Cade Hilt chipped in with four points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Tyler Gadd pulled down 10 rebounds.
