Mercy Academy coach Nick Cann started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Emma Barnett, 5-10 Sr. Mary Smith, 6-2 So. Leah Macy, 5-5 So. Alyssa Murphy, and 5-7 So. Addison Becker. Bullitt East coach Chris Stallings countered with 5-10 Jr. Anna Rodgers, 5-7 Sr. Logan Ortega, 5-10 So. Madeline Curtsinger, 5-6 So. Carli Bryant, and 5-8 Sr. Lilly Reid.
Mercy Academy defeated Bullitt East 54-51 in overtime. Bullitt East trailed by 12 in the first half but outscored Mercy Academy 22-12 in the final quarter to force overtime. There were three lead changes and three ties in this game. Mercy Academy shot 22.4% from the field including two of 15 from the three point line. The Jaguars connected on 30 of 43 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 11 Bullitt East turnovers. Bullitt East shot 35.3% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc. The Lady Chargers connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored six points off 10 Mercy Academy turnovers.
Leah Macy led Mercy Academy with 24 points including 18 of 22 free throws, 22 rebounds, three assists, and two blocked shots. Mary Smith added 13 points including six of six free throws. Emma Barnett recorded nine points, five rebounds, and four blocked shots. Addison Becker chipped in with four points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Alyssa Murphy added four points and five rebounds.
Lilly Reid led Bullitt East with 20 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. Madeline Curtsinger added 11 points and eight rebounds. 5-5 Fr. Mollie Johnston added eight points and two rebounds. Logan Ortega recorded seven points, three rebounds, and three assists. Anna Rodgers chipped in with five points, six rebounds, and four assists.
