Paul Laurence Dunbar vs. Lexington Christian Academy (Girls) February 20th

Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Erik Daniels started the following lineup: 5-9 Fr. Miami King, 5-8 8th Grade Ellie Lavey, 5-10 Jr. Margaret Hoover, 5-5 8th Grade Eriyaunne Daniels, and 5-7 Jr. Justice Biggerstaff. Lexington Christian Academy countered with 5-7 So. Claire Roberts, 5-6 So. Ella Gabbert, 5-6 Fr. Jenny Bertram, 5-5 8th Grade Nia Carr, and 5-5 7th Grade Koko Castle.

Paul Laurence Dunbar trailed 34-31 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Lexington Christian Academy 45-42. The score was tied six times and there were seven lead changes in the game. Pau Laurence Dunbar shot 28.3% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Billdogs connected on 12 of 25 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 19 Lexington Christian Academy turnovers. Lexington Christian Academy shot 22% from the field including five of 24 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on 19 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers.

Ellie Lavey led PLD with 15 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Justice Biggerstaff added nine points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Eriyaunne Daniels added nine points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Miami King recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Clair Roberts led LCA with 15 points including two three point baskets, seven of eight free throws, and three rebounds. Jenny Bertram added nine points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. Nia Carr recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and three steals. Koko Castle chipped in with six points and four rebounds.

The Bulldogs connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 34.8% from the field including four of 23 from beyond the arc. The Generals connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored six points off eight Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers.

Nick Spalding led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 18 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Max VanDyke added 16 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Cade Hilt recorded 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists. 5-11 Sr. Benjamin Haggard chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets and two assists.

Jayd Huynh led Lafayette with 14 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Jack Ackerman added 10 points and seven rebounds. 5-8 Fr. Clay Noble recorded six points on two three point baskets. Emmany Bandamuna pulled down eight rebounds.

The Lady Knights connected on 17 of 22 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 39 points off 33 Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers. Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 8.33% from the field including zero of eight from beyond the arc. The Lady Bulldogs connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored two points off seven Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 20 points including nine of nine from the free throw line, four rebounds, and five steals. Lucy Nash added nine points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals. Mary Martin Hampton recorded six points, six rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Lydia Kennedy chipped in with six points and three steals.

Miami King led Paul Laurence Dunbar with three points, and five rebounds. Ellie Lavey added three points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Lexington Catholic pulled away in the second haqlf to defeat Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 62-42. Lexington Catholic shot 69% from the field including including six of nine from the three point line. The Knights connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 10 Paul Laurence Dunbar turnovers. Paul Laurence Dunbar shot 40.5% from the field including seven of 19 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down nine rebounds, and scored four points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.


Tyler Doyle led Lexington Catholic with 21 points including two three point baskets, seven of 10 free throws, four rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Reece Potter added 16 points and seven rebounds. John Reinhart recorded 10 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Hudson Sparks chipped in with seven points, three rebounds, and three assists.


Max Van Dyke led Paul Laurence Dunbar with 14 points including four three point baskets and three steals. Cade Hilt added 12 points, three rebounds, and two steals. Nick Spalding recorded 11 points including two three point baskets and three assists.

Tates Creek outscored Lafayette 16-8 in the third quarter on their way to a 59-53 victory. There were five ties and five lead changes in this game. Tates Creek shot 46.8% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line. The Lady Commodores connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 23 Lafayette turnovers. Lafayette shot 36.8% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Generals connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 25 Tates Creek turnovers,

Jada Bell led Tates Creek with 25 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, and eight steals. Kaleigh Potts added 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three steals. Ashton Harris recorded nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Gracyn Grantz led Lafayette with 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Savannah Simpson added 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. Belle Combs recorded 12 points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Tess Nelson chipped in with seven points, Anna Clay Denton recorded five points, four rebounds, two assists, and four steals.

The Commodores connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lexington Christian Academy turnovers,

Andersen Green led Lexington Christian Academy with 18 points including five of five free throws and two assists. Saxton Howard added 16 points including three three point baskets. Connor Martin recorded eight points including six of seven free throws, and four rebounds. Tyler Hall chipped in with six points, two rebounds, three assists, and four steals.

Eric Hackett led Tates Creek with 16 points including two three point baskets, two assists, and two blocked shots. 6-6 Jr. RaeAmere Owsley added 14 points, five rebounds, and two blocked shots. Jacobi Commodore recorded nine points, four rebounds, and two assists. Dawson Garth chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and five assists.

The Lady Commodores connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 25 points including nine of 11 free throws, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Mary Martin Hampton added nine points, six rebounds, and four steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded seven points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three blocked shots. Lucy Nash chipped in with seven points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, and two steals.

Miracle Morbley led Tates Creek with 10 points, six rebounds, and two steals. 5-4 Fr. Jazlene Potter added 10 points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Ashton Harris recorded six points, eight rebounds, and two steals. Jada Bell chipped in with six points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 35-12 halftime lead on their way to a 61-39 victory over Lexington Christian Academy. Lexington Catholic shot 59.5% from the field including eight of 17 from the three point line. The Knights connected on three of eight free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 12 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 51.7% from the field including five of 13 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 15 rebounds, and scored five points off five Lexington Catholic turnovers.


John Reinhart led Lexington Catholic with 23 points including five three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Reece Potter added 13 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. Tyler Doyle recorded 11 points and eight assists. Hudson Sparks chipped in with seven points, seven rebounds, and three assists.


Saxton Howard led Lexington Christian Academy with 10 points including two three point baskets. Tyler Hall added eight points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
