Bryan Station vs. Franklin County February 27th @ Franklin County High School

Bryan Station coach Serena Sandusky started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Kailyn Gentry, 5-8 So. Jailenn Green, 6-3 So. Albertine Cyuzozo, 5-6 Sr. Emily Gomez, and 5-6 Sr. Makari Murphy. Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 6-1 Jr. Rachel Shropshire, 6-0 Sr. Jazmin Chambers, 6-4 Sr. Jhaven Meade, 5-5 Fr. Logan Kennedy, and 5-7 So. Madison Jackson.

Franklin County defeated Bryan Station by the score of 68-52. Franklin County shot 41.8% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 15 of 17 free throws and pulled down 39 rebounds. Bryan Station shot 36.2% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 21 free throws and pulled down 41 rebounds.

Rachel Shropshire led Franklin County with 19 points including four three point baskets and seven rebounds. Logan Kennedy added 10 points including eight of eight free throws and five rebounds. 6-1 So. Juliana Frazee and Jazmin Chambers each recorded 10 points. Jhaven Meade recorded six points and eight rebounds.

Albertine Cyuzozo led Bryan Station with 18 points including six of nine free throws and 12 rebounds. Jailenn Green added 11 points. Kailyn Gentry recorded nine points and 15 rebounds.

Madison Central defeated Tates Creek by the score of 63-38. Madison Central shot 41.9% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line. The Lady Indians connected on seven of 14 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 40 points off 31 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 23.8% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Commodores connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Madison Central turnovers.

Nataya Strader led Madison Central with 22 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven steals. Brittany Campbell added 14 points, four rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Bailey Hensley recorded 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.

Miracle Morbley led Tates Creek with 12 points and five rebounds. Jada Bell added seven points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 5-4 Fr, Jazlene Potter recorded six points, three rebounds, and three steals. Kaleigh Potts chipped in with four points and six rebounds. Ashton Harris recorded three points, 11 rebounds, and four steals.

Madison Southern vs. Lexington Catholic February 27th @ Lexington Catholic

Madison Southern coach Josh Curtis started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Tara Wooten, 5-7 Sr. Jada Carter, 5-11 Sr. Bella Moberly, 5-4 Fr. Hadley French, and 5-5 So. Ashlan Estep. Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt countered with 5-10 Sr. Katherine Truitt, 5-7 Sr. Lucy Nash, 5-9 Jr. Lydia Kennedy, 5-4 Jr. Sydney Elbert, and 5-4 Sr. Mary Martin Hampton.

Lexington Catholic defeated Madison Southern by the score of 55-42. Madison Southern led Lexington Catholic 29-25 at halftime and the score was tied three times with nine lead changes in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 46.9% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on four of 10 from the free throw line, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 37.5% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 26 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Mary Martin Hampton added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots. Sydney Elbert chipped in with four points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Hadley French led Madison Southern with 13 points including three three point baskets. Ashlan Estep added 10 points including two three point baskets and three assists. Tara Wooten recorded six points and three rebounds. Bella Moberly chipped in with five points and six rebounds. Jada Carter added four points and five rebounds. 5-8 Sr. Megan Correll pulled down seven rebounds.

Great Crossing vs. Frederick Douglass February 27th @ Frederick Douglass

Great Crossing coach Matt Walls started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Ava Schureman, 5-8 Jr. Olivia Tierney, 6-0 Sr Raegan Barrett, 5-7 So. Chapel Brown, and 5-7 Sr. Rachel Smith. Frederick Douglass coach Darryl Moberly countered with 5-9 Sr. Jermyra Christian , 5-8 Jr. Victory Sledge, 5-9 So. Amayah Maxwell, 5-4 So. Kate Baker, and 5-7 So. Niah Rhodes.

Frederick Douglass trailed 36-34 at halftime but outscored Great Crossing 26-13 in the third quarter on their way to a 71-60 victory. There were six lead changes and five ties in this game. Frederick Douglass shot 41.4% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Great Crossing turnovers. Great Crossing shot 43.6% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Warhawks connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Victory Sledge led Frederick Douglass with 19 points including five of six free throws, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Jermyra Christian added 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals. Niah Rhodes recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, and two assists. Kate Baker chipped in with 11 points including six of eight free throws, five rebounds, and six assists. 5-9 8th Grade Jaylee Knowles added eight points, eight rebounds, four blocked shots and two steals.

Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Raegan Barrett added 11 points and nine rebounds. 5-4 8th Grade Adrianna Brown recorded 10 points and four rebounds. Ava Schureman chipped in with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Rachel Smith added eight points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

Franklin County vs. Lexington Catholic March 1st @ EKU (Semifinal)

Franklin County coach Joey Thacker started the following lineup: 6-1 Jr. Rachel Shropshire, 6-0 Sr. Jazmin Chambers, 6-4 Sr. Jhaven Meade, 5-5 Fr. Logan Kennedy, and 5-7 So. Madison Jackson. Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt countered with 5-10 Sr. Katherine Truitt, 5-7 Sr. Lucy Nash, 5-9 Jr. Lydia Kennedy, 5-4 Jr. Sydney Elbert, and 5-4 Sr. Mary Martin Hampton.


Lexington Catholic trailed 41-36 after three quarters but rallied for a 61-59 victory over the defending champion Franklin County squad. Franklin County trailed by 10 late in the game but staged a furious rally and missed a shot at short range in the closing seconds for the chance to tie. There were five ties and nine lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 41.7% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers. Franklin County shot 37.1% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Flyers connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.


Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and five steals. Mary Martin Hampton added 19 points including 10 of 15 free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Lucy Nash pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists.


6-1 So. Juliana Frazee did her damage in the second half with 21 points including five of five free throws and five rebounds. Jazmin Chambers added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. 5-3 So. Leia Hogan recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Jhaven Meade chipped in with six points and five rebounds. Rachel Shropshire added six points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Logan Kennedy recorded two points, eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

Madison Central coach Scott True countered with 5-7 Jr. Eden Carter, 5-7 So. Brooke Campbell, 5-10 Jr. Bailey Hensley, 5-7 So. Brittany Campbell, and 5-6 So. Nataya Strader.


Madison Central led by 15 in the first quarter and the score was tied 41-41 after three quarters but Frederick Douglass pulled away in the final quarter for a 57-50 victory. There were three ties and seven lead changes in this game. Frederidk Douglass shot 50% from the field including three of 15 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers. Madison Central shot 44% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.


6-2 Jr. Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 20 points on 10 of 11 from the field, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Niah Rhodes added 17 points including three three point baskets. Jermyra Christian recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Victory Sledge chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and two steals. Kate Baker added two points, three rebounds, and six assists. 5-9 8th Grade Jaylee Knowles recorded two points, five rwebounds, and two blocked shots.


Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Eden Carter added 16 points and three rebounds. Brooke Campbell recorded six points on two three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists. Nataya Strader chipped in with five points and Brittany Campbell dished out seven assists.

Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt countered with 5-10 Sr. Katherine Truitt, 5-7 Sr. Lucy Nash, 5-9 Jr. Lydia Kennedy, 5-4 Jr. Sydney Elbert, and 5-4 Sr. Mary Martin Hampton.


Lexington Catholic did not have an answer for Ayanna-Sarai Darrington tonight as she recorded 27 points, 29 rebounds, and two blocked shots to lead Frederick Douglass to a 66-51 victory over the Lady Knights. The score was tied four times and there was four lead changes in the game. Frederick Douglass shot 34.5% from the field including three of 18 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on 25 of 35 free throws, pulled down 55 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 27.1% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 25 Frederick Douglass turnovers. Lexington Catholic lost three starters due to fouls; Lucy Nash, Mary Martin Hampton, and Lydia Kennedy.


Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 27 points including nine of 10 free throws, 29 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Niah Rhodes added 13 points including three three point baskets and four of four from the free throw line. Jermyra Christian recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 5-8 Jr. Victory Sledge chipped in with seven points and four rebounds. Kate Baker added five points, three rebounds, and four assists.


Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 23 points including five of eight free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Lucy Nash added nine points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals. Mary Martin Hampton recorded six points, six rebounds, two assists, and four steals, Lydia Kennedy chipped in with six points, five rebounds, and two steals.
