Cooper defeated Scott County by the score of 49-21 in a game that featured a little of everything. Emotions ran high in a game in which several players were sent to the sidelines for equipment violations, players ejected, assistant coach from Scott County being ejected, and a member of the “chain crew” being ejected. It also featured a very efficient Cooper offense and a superstar performance by Cooper’s Austin Alexander who stars on both sides of the ball. Cooper recorded 22 first downs and 377 yards of total offense. The Jaguars were penalized four times for 44 yards. Scott County recorded 12 first downs and 272 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized 11 times for 117 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.
Keagan Maher led Cooper’s ground game with 156 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries. Cameron O’Hara carried the ball seven times for 10 yards with one touchdown. Cameron O’Hara completed 12 of 17 passes for 211 yards and three touchdowns. Austin Alexander caught five passes for 148 yards and three touchdowns. Keagan Maher added two receptions for 26 yards. Ryker Campbell returned two kickoffs for 44 yards with a long return of 25 yards. Elijah Laurent returned one kickoff for 24 yards. Jack Lonaker led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles. Mason Stanton added four solo and three assisted tackles. Christian Brown recorded four solo and one assisted tackles. Ryker Campbell recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. Austin Alexander added three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards. Isaac Brown intercepted a pass.
Thomas Feickert led Scott County’s ground game with 40 yards on seven carries. Jacob Fryman carried the ball 13 times for 38 yards and a touchdown. Kanye Garrett recorded 31 yards on three carries. Andrew Hickey also ran for a touchdown. Andrew Hickey completed three of eight passes for 108 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions. Eli Lilly caught two passes for 30 yards. Ellis Huguely caught one pass for 78 yards and a touchdown. Jackson Damron returned two kickoffs for 32 yards with a long return of 16 yards. Jackson Damron led the defense with three solo and eight assisted tackles. Paul Garner added three solo and four assisted tackles. J. Stevenson recorded one solo and seven assisted tackles. Luke Valencia added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard loss.
