Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jake Stewart, 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Athens McGillis, and 6-1 So Logan Wermuth. Great Crossing coach Steve Page countered with 6-7 Sr. Jeremiah Godfrey, 6-5 Jr. Vince Dawson III, 7-1 Jr. Malachi Moreno, 5-9 Jr. Junius Burrell, and 6-4 Jr. Gage Richardson.

Great Crossing raced out to a 20-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 66-51 over Covington Catholic. Great Crossing shot 50% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line. The Warhawks connected on seven of seven free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Covington Catholic turnovers. Covington Catholic shot 37% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Great Crossing turnovers.

Junius Burrell led Great Crossing with 21 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, and seven assists. Vince Dawson III added 17 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Malachi Moreno recorded 10 points, 14 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Gage Richardson chipped in with 10 points, two rebounds, five assists, and two steals. Jeremiah Godfrey pulled down seven rebounds.

Brady Hussey led Covington Catholic with 15 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and three assists. Athens McGillis added 12 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists. Caden Miller recorded 11 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocked shots.
