Paul Laurence Dunbar coach Erik Daniels started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Bella Rusing, 5-7 Sr. Justice Biggerstaff, 6-0 So. Ava Rankin, 5-4 Fr. Layla Flynn, and 5-5 Fr, Eriyaune Daniels. Lexington Christian Academy coach Tim Bradshaw countered with 5-6 Jr. Ella Gabbert, 5-6 So. Jenny Bertram, 5-9 8th Grade Koko Castle, 5-7 Jr, Chapel Brown, and 5-7 Jr. Claire Roberts.
LCA led 23-16 at halftime but Dunbar rallied in the second half to earn a 50-44 victory. The score was tied three times and there were seven lead changes in the game. Dunbar shot 28.3% from the field including two of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Bulldogs connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 33 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 37.5% from the field including five of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored deven points off 11 Dunbar turnovers.
Justice Biggerstaff led Dunbar with 20 points including six of seven free throws and two steals. Layla Flynn added 14 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and eight steals. Eriyaune Daniels recorded eight points including two three point baskets, and three steals.
Chapel Brown led LCA with 20 points including four three point baskets, and five rebounds. Koko Castle added 17 points including nine of 10 free throws, and 11 rebounds. Ella Gabbert recorded five points and six rebounds. Jenny Bertram chipped in with two points, 12 rebounds, and two assists.
