Archbishop McNicholas coach Tim Monahan started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Jack Turner, 6-1 Jr. Charlie Clark, 6-4 Sr. Andrew Ehlers, 5-11 Sr. Michael Conrad, and 6-0 Fr. Grant Waters. Covington Catholic coach Scott Ruthsatz countered with 6-2 Sr. Brady Hussey, 6-0 Jr. Nolan Ruthsatz, 6-9 Sr. Caden Miller, 5-11 So. Cash Harney, and 5-11 So. Athens McGillis.

Archbishop McNicholas defeated Covington Catholic by the score of 61-58. There were two lead changes and three ties in this game. Archbishop McNicholas shot 42.2% from the field including nine of 21 from the three point line. The Rockets connected on 14 of 16 free throws, pulled doiwn 27 rebounds, and scored six points off 11 Covington Catholic turnovers. McNicholas held a 27-9 advantage in three point points. Covington Catholic shot 45.7% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc. The Colonels connected on 13 of 22 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Archbishop McNicholas turnovers.

Grant Waters led Archbishop McNicholas with 24 points including six three point baskets, four of four free throws, and three rebounds. Andrew Ehlers added 18 points including seven of nine free throws, seven rebounds, and two assists. Charlie Clark recorded 10 points.

Athens McGillis led Covington Catholic with 14 points including five of seven free throws, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Caden Miller added 13 points, nine rebounds, and four blocked shots. Cash Harney recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Brady Hussey chipped in with 11 points, four rebounds, and two steals.
